The Gift

The past two pandemic years have changed most people's lives, and it can be good to spend time reflecting in writing. We will explore what you would like to give to others, and to yourself, at this moment in time. What can be our most precious gift? Inheritance. Riches. Traditions, cultural history. Names. Sustainable futures. Freedom. Will. Notices and plans. Maps. Collections. Treasure! What is important to bequeath? How will our gifts help with what happens next?

We'll explore some poetic forms and share some of the best contemporary writing being published in Wales, Ireland, the UK and beyond.

About the Tutor: Suzanne Iuppa is a poet and conservationist living and working in the Dyfi Valley, mid Wales. Raised in the States, she came to the UK in the 80s as a young person to study modern British poetry and countryside management. Suzanne has 10 years experience delivering community workshops and is a member of the National Association of Writing in Education.

Recent poems and stories appear in Ambit, Bad Lilies, Zoomorphic and Good Dadhood, Litro, Storgy, and climate futures anthology Gorwelion/Shared Horizons, edited by Robert Minhinnick.
